Reminiscing pre-covid times

This was the first session I ever conducted for the girls who eagerly came from their homes in Kusum Pahari, a nearby village, to learn from me. Since my entire philosophy of teaching these girls was inspired by how I wished to be taught - in a creative and unconventional manner - I started off by making them do, what I was told, is their favourite activity: colouring. I read out a story from The Panchtantra, an ancient Indian collection of interrelated animal fables with morals, known to every child in India. After that, I gave the girls cut outs of animal characters from the story, which they coloured and then made them into facemasks. Needless to say that along with learning the moral of the story, doing the interactive activity excited the girls to come back and learn more with me!
