Reminiscing pre-covid times- part II

This was another session I conducted with the girls from Kusum Pahari. I learnt very quickly that Math was a struggle for most of the girls in my group so I was determined to devise a way to make them enjoy the subject. I remembered my love for Lego blocks and used that as a medium to teach the girls multiplication tables. The number of circular ridges in each block and the number of blocks themselves, stacked together, made them remember their tables in a way never before. At the end of the session, one of them said, “this was the first time I ever attended a math class with full engrossment and didn’t find it an ‘effort’.” That was all I needed to hear.
